Sticky mess!

I've been some what productive!.. I say some what pretty mildly.
On Tuesday I was at Mr.Ribs painting on the front glass. 
" Lunch and Dinner Specials Daily"   but at one point they went out side to look and realized the glass was tinted and they made me scrape it off. I was not impressed. I was there all day. But I still managed to make John Pigs in a blanket for Lunch and Butter nut Squash Risotto... though For some odd reason it tasted like baked beans... It wasn't a hit.  
Tuesday John got to eat left overs for Lunch but I made Roasted veggies and a Crunchy Pork chops with Apple Butter sauce.   Then Today I made up a loaf of bread and some burger buns. Then I made Whole wheat apple cinnamon pancakes and buckwheat/flax chocolate pancakes with a side of sausage for Lunch. John was very pleased with his lunch( shhh I didn't mention the flax)  
This afternoon I hung out with Lori for a bit, it was nice then I came home and made up some Mozza stuffed Burgers!  I bake them so I don't need to spend alot of time with them and they stay super Juicy. But the Recipe I made up is insanely juicy any ways!  They were a huge Hit with My Love. I caught him kissing his burger more the once. He also claimed if it was a person, I'd be single. And that his burger was almost better then Sex. 

Though I made up a batch of Lemonade that I'm really enjoying. Then I made up a bit batch of simple Syrup to keep in the back of the fridge For when I need a quick bit of it. At this current time, I am Steeping some Green tea to make some Sweet Iced Green Tea. I am excited to try it when I'm done. Sometimes I can be productive but Sometimes I'm kinda of lazy.

Today I went over to Mr.Ribs and it looked a bit dark but I thought I'd Check the door. maybe he was in the office. So I opened the Door. Peeked in and saw no lights or anything. Closed it then Kinda stood there pondering what to do. Should I wander the mall a bit or walk home, Have a drink at the A&W and wait for someone to show. As I pondered. A cop pulled up with the lights on...  A cop got out and questioned me. Did you just come out of the restaurant, Why were you here, Did you Try the door, Blah blah blah.  
I couldn't hear it when I opened the door but the alarm was going off and they thought I did it. 
Sam pulled up 5 minutes later and told the cop that i did work for him but he claimed he had locked the door but it hadn't been locked properly. 
So inside we go and first thing he had me to was scrub the grease build up from behind the oven that they moved.It was over 10 Years worth of Grease.  I was covered to my elbows and the grease/junk was soaking through the knees of my jeans. I wasn't impressed.  Then I had the fun of Moping the back. Just like the good old days. :/  Steve hated when I slopped mopped but Sam doesn't seem to care. 
Then I got to take the old menus out of the book insert things. Wipe them down and insert the new Menu. and God these inserts sucked. Intil i got a good method picked out. it was taking me over 5 minutes to get a piece worked into it.  I finished a few then we took a break for lunch around 1:00
Sam made everyone Steak, Greek salad, Garlic Toast and Some Charbroiled Chicken. I don't eat chicken but I picked at it because he was feeding me for free. The Greek salad was pretty Good and the steak was perfect. it wasn't a cheap cut, and it was cooked just the way I like it. I rarely get steak so I was over the moon. Then after Lunch I had to finish stuffing the stupid menus into the inserts. The Pepsi Man showed up and I got to hook up all the syrups. Though as I tried to get the damn cap off. the whole Nozzle popped off covering me in pop Syrup! I put it back in hoping to stop the leak and hopefully still use the syrup. Luckily it did!  But I had to wipe it up because unfortunately Syrup is insanely sticky.

As expected, I did not get the job at Big Sky. I was inexperienced for the job but it's always better to aim higher right. ?
I got the Job at Mr.Ribs. Sam has called me a couple times. I'm helping him find plumbers, handy men and what not as well as painting the glass on a couple windows which i personally think is tacky but what ever floats his boat right?    
Even though I don't actually start work til a unknown time, I think he is paying me for the things he's getting me to do and if not. He will know how much of a dedicated worker I am and that I really do give my all.   It's something to do. 

I haven't really been going  all out with my cooking. I fully admit I've stopped trying. lack of work is starting to really put me out of the mood to create amazing things.  
I did make a cake for Carey's Birthday. She's....35....  I made her a pink and Green Vanilla cake that was fairly light and moist, It had a light Chocolate Butter cream icing and strawberries and cherries in the middle. I didn't personally like it except the fun colors. 
I made a Lasagna the next night. I even made the noodles. Except the noodles turned to mush in the lasagna so I really didn't like it but the Garlic Bread Sticks I made were gobbled up.    Nothing amazing. I think one night I fed him Chili Dogs...

Tonight I am trying this baked potatoes I saw Online. Cutting into them but not all the way through, drizzling with oil, salt and pepper But so far the pan they are is burnt and making the house smokey. I fully admit I'm making potatoes, eggs and bacon because everyone likes bacon.

I've been trying to walk more.... And i've done alright.   I aim to walk to the new hospital and around
One day I walked for 70 minutes! then the next I helped Anita change a bunch of Signs... I concluded that to be enough. Then the next I walked for 45 mins,  Today I didn't walk a lot yet... it's still early. I may go for a night stroll.
But I've been bringing Taz with me, He loves it at the beginning but by the time we're heading back, he's really starting to drag. Spends more time sniffing stuff, refusing to move from the said sniffing spot and attempting to mark more things even though he's run Dry. Lol.  It Kinda drives me nuts but I feel bad if I don't bring along. 
when I go out when I get home, he is always curled up in front of the door. In fact alot of the times he gets whacked with the door because he doesn't hear us coming and I kinda forget that he likes to chill there waiting for us to return.

For Most people who know me. They know I'm not really friendly. Sure I'm a open book. I'd tell anyone my Stories. But getting me there takes a bit of time and patience. 
 Most people Also know I'm not close with my family.  I've always considered my self the black sheep. I just never felt like I fit in so instead of trying to fit in. I mingle at the edge.
I rarely talk to my sister or brother on the phone. Though I do randomly see them.I do wish I got to see them more often but Life really gets in the way. Work likes to keep me busy every weekend and when I'm free they are not.  
 I Also randomly talk to my mother. Sometimes twice a month.
I see my Aunt M and my grandmother on holidays and that's it, I admit when I do see them, we don't even say Much. Though my Aunt M was great when I was a kid.
I see my Aunt D at the end of the summer but I wish I got to see her more often. we keep meaning to get visit them at her farm but life really gets in the way sometimes. 
My Aunt C, I have not seen in years. I don't actually remember the last time i saw her... But we communicate randomly on email...
The people I see most are John's Parents.  They are a big part of John's Life so they are a big part of mine. and i adore them. They rock. and they rave over my food like it's the best thing in the world So I get a lot of ego Boosts. lol

Baking Pro Or baking Disaster?

I seriously just made a cake that tastes just like out of the Box. Insanely Moist and Rich and Omg. Cake heaven... I know I'm tooting my own horn but I personally think it's the best I've ever made. It's almost black instead of that Nice Brown.... Have I mentioned I'm Melting in Pleasure here?
John had two Pieces... Not that its saying anything because he usually has seconds but I was on the phone and generally ignoring him. He was following me round with his empty plate with huge puppy eyes.   mmmm I wonder what he'd do to get thirds? ;)
I had some minor issues with it though. As usual I kind of went off and did my own thing. and well lets just say my oven started on Fire. It was kind of fun. I opened all the windows and put a coat on and was trying to get the smoke out before my Love got home.
One of the things that made it so moist, I think was the coffee. I used a cup of Fresh Brewed Kicking Horse Coffee. After brewing it, I stuck it in a pot and added 4 to 6 oz... Okay I didnt measure... Of Dark milk Chocolate. And Melted it in....   The batter alone was so Good. I licked the spatula/bowl clean before I remembered I hadn't even put it in the oven yet.
Though this cake didnt seem to like me. It didn't go Up. it didn't rise at all. Instead of going up it went over the sides of the pans onto the bottom of the oven.    Then at Lunch John thought it looked horrible but he certainly fell in love with it after the first bite.

Today I get to Clean my oven. There is batter burnt on the racks and the bottom.  And since I'm writing this it seems I'm avoiding it...

Yesterday John and I went out and picked up all the Magnet signs that had fallen over in the horrible wind yesterday.  Three had fallen in total. I had four cement blocks that Anita had forgotten so I used those. One sign got two and the other two signs got one cement block and some very Big Rocks tossed on, in hopes of keeping them up.  Lucky it was fairly warm out, Just extremely Windy.

On Friday I have a interview at olysky which is with Big Sky(Pig Farm) Not really sure how I managed to get the interview because I hardly have any experience. They want someone to do data entry and filing and junk. The title was feed assistant but it's a office job. Weird .  I need to use Excel which I have not used since grade 12 and what not.  But I did write a very Confident Cover Letter. lol On Friday I hope to hand in my resume at the Mr. Ribs that is supposed to be taking over at where Chick Allan's Was.
On that Note. I have heard nothing from Steve or Bev.  I am very disappointed. I had really hoped they would find something soon but at the same time I worry that Steve may still be holding anger toward me for leaving. and for all I know he might not hire me back at all....    But that could just be my paranoia working over time which it does. Often.

Blog Much.?

 
A Link to My >>>>>LAST BLOG<<<<         Okay, I know I've been Blogging alot lately but I really don't have much else to do.
I submitted my resumes to places that I might be able to work at, and a couple that I know is a stretch...
I applied for Unemployment. I did it wrong but I still did it.  For some odd reason, it didn't seem to click into my head that 52 weeks is actually a year until after I got home. Opps.
I've done multi loads of laundry, I've washed the dog,  I've hidden junk into the basement and
spending a insane amount of time learning about random junk on the internet that I find interesting,
 the Beginning of the week, I tried my first attempt at Refried beans that ended wonderfully. Yum!  The Pork and refried bean Quesadillas were great with Chipotle mayo.  I made a small batch of Perogies but the dough was a tad weird so they look extra funky but tasted amazing. The Bread was successful though as usual my John hates the flax.  I even made a healthy version of my Favorite meat Pie. I made a ton of Mini Ones and froze them for later Yummy Meals. I made the Crust with brown flour and flax... Again John wasn't very Happy about the flax. Though the weird thing about the day I made them. I started to Text John's parents, I was thinking of inviting them to supper thinking his mother would Enjoy them but I deleted the text after I started to describe what was in them...! I figured John's father wouldn't like them because of the large amount of healthy things in them. Carrots, spinach and flax.

                  One day I wasted a large amount of time soaking in the bathtub with a book and a can of Coke, But I did manage to Create a Yummy healthy supper!. Carribean Shrimp Rice Bowl. A creamy tomato based sauce with a hint of coconut and a flint of heat and mingling flavors of Lime and Mango.    
I've never had success with Cooking rice at home, it's always really Mushy. and well Im not really a fan of rice in the beginning but it gives something else to eat that is fairly cheap and not always potatoes. I tire of potatoes quit easily.   I've always just bought plain Brown Rice, the same as what my mother always made us eat when I was in my final years of High School. Since I'm not a big fan of it, I never serve it just plain jane. I always jazz it up. The last time I served Rice. I made it Mexican stylish.. Kidney beans, tomato, cumin. Yum.  On a side note. has anyone else noticed my insane addiction to Mexican foods.
Anyways. recently as I bought groceries, I stopped and looked at all the different types of Rices and decided since my rice never works well anyways, I'd try a new type. Still brown but I got basmati which claims its ideal for Curries. Anyways and it actually Cooked up right. it wasn't mushy, It wasn't hard and i didn't have to drain any water off. I was pretty excited. I almost just served it plain because I was So Happy.  ( I know happy bout Rice *shrugs*)

               The other day I attempted to make Tomato Paste. I know such a simple sounding thing. But I've never made it. I've always bought those little dinky cans of paste then frozen the amount I;ve never used.  But hey I got time and I'm not a fan of the preservatives that are in them so Hey Hoe! Lets Go! I googled and googled to great Lengths. Some are just tomatoes that have been peeled and seeded with salt. Some are whole tomatoes and onion and more salt. with a hint of lemon...  |
So I'm taking whole tomatoes chopped up. Sticking those bad boys in a Pot and setting it on 1. So it's Hott and you can see the steam and make the house smell like I'm making something amazing. But they don't Boil... now I let them Do that.... for at least eight hours.... That's it. I had to randomly stir. and evertually I stuck them into the blender and went to town on them. So they are smooth and not a single seed remains.. As they simmer, they should break down the skins that I left on and the color will darken and the tomato flavor will start to enhance as it thickens and thickens some more.    They Turned out Wonderful. I froze them in ice cube trays then moved them into a baggy. One is perfect amount to toss into anything!

I recently tried making Boston Baked beans. John's parents really enjoyed them and well I found them disgusting.  I may try a tomato based baked beans sometime but the first batch really put me off it. I always loved canned beans... But oh well.

    John invited a couple over. A guy he met at work and his women...  And you know me. I always seem to aim to impress.  So I've been trying to think of the perfect things to have set out.     My Mini Meat Pies with a marania dipping sauce, maybe cheese, meat with Crackers?  Carmel Corn...  I will wow them with my crazy awesome Foods... Hopefully.

I had to take my lovely computer into future shop yet again. they gave me a loaner. Two More times and they will give me a brand new computer. I look forward to it because my computer is driving me mad.
